Christmas Timeeeeeeee

After Thanksgiving, I was pretty rubbish at updating my blog. This was mainly due to the fact that I had so many essays/finals to do! The only mentionable thing that happened in the last couple of weeks is that I had to say goodbye to my roommate Emilienne, whom I love to bits. So the goodbye was very sad, even if afterwards she did stalk me around an airport...

Being home for Christmas was so amazing. I literally loved every minute of it; there was never a dull moment! I literally had no time to just sit and do nothing. I went to panto's, the cinema (to see its a wonderful life), the pub (a lot), for cocktails, and loads of shopping. Most importantly, I had a very festive Christmas with my family. This year, I got bits and bobs of my parents, and ofcourse, the wonderful homemade gifts that I annually receive off my mum!! (This year i was given a jumper, some homemade bath bombs etc!) Like usual, it was a busy Christmas day with the whole McCann family coming round for a boozy day! The dinner was wonderful and the company was even better. I honestly couldn't have had a better Christmas at home.

Wapella!!!

Hello from Wapella, Illinois!

I am at Anna's house & I have had such a wonderful day!!!

So, this morning was pretty relaed; we just watched TV and lounged around in our sweats (heaven!!). This afternoon we went to a crafts shop where we painted pottery- I can't upload a picture of mine, as it is a gift for my Mum (as my homemade Christmas eve present!) The ceramics place was in Bloomington, Illinois (which was quite close). There were so many children there, but all day Anna and I have just been big kids... This afternoon basically consisteed of us going into loads of cute little shops, and me taking photos of EVERYTHING! I bought Elliot, Harrison and Ellouise Christmas presents! As well as some stuff for my Mum. I wish I could have bought her all the food and wine we came across; she would of loved it all! This evening, we decorated a ginger bread house! So OTT and amazingly decorated!!! We have just had the most creative day...

I've been made to feel right at home in the Toohill house! It's so cozy!

Blog tomorrow,

Goodnight! xx

Thanksgiving Break!

Ok so this is a little premature, as I still have one class until I finish for Thanksgiving break, but I thought I would write this anyway (due to my uncontrollable excitement).

So, this weekend I am going to Anna Toohill's (a girl in my sorority) house; she lives on a farm! I'm excited to just laze around and have some relaxation!! On Monday, I am heading up to Chicago again to stay with Marie (another girl in my sorority), which should be fun. She has invited me for thanksgiving dinner! I'm really looking forward to going Black Friday shopping: thats a day where there are loads of sales, which means I am goign to do loads of Christmas shopping!!! Although I am missing my favourite shopping partner (and finacor) - my Mum.

After Thanksgiving I only have a week and a half of classes before exams start (I'm trying not to think about them...). Its crazy to think about how fast this year is going!! SCARY!

I'll keep you updated on my Thanksgiving week!
Happy Holidays!

My roommate is leaving in 30 days....

Hi all!
Just want to dedicate this post to my roommate, she is the best roomie I could have asked for her and I am going to ask her to leave her pictures behind, so I can look at her glorious face every day before I go to sleep. I am already secretly crying myself to sleep when I think of that awful day when we will leave each other. I cannot take this anymore, I think I am moving to Belgium! Here I come belgian Jack!!!
Lots of love to Emiliennnneeeeeeeeee, you are the coolest, prettiest, funniest person I have ever met!!!

CHICAGO!

So, this weekend, I visited Simon in Chicago! We did all the usual tourist stuff, like visited the bean, went up tall buildings, went to navy pier, visited the shops, went out for a lovely dinner. It was a lovely, well needed, catch up. And it was nice to get out of Champaign for a weekend!

The weather was not too amazing... In fact, we found ourselves in the middle of a tornado....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2508787/Washington-Illinois-tornado-kills-EIGHT-severe-Midwest-storm.html

It was so scary and Chicago was basically flooded; we had to seek refuge in McDonalds! What made matters worse was the fact that we were on the top of the highest building in the USA when the storm struck! We got evacuated before the building began to sway too much!!! The wind was so powerful I was literally could not even move. But, the storm was not that bad in Chicago compared to elsewhere in Illinois!

Besides this little scare, the weekend was lovely!! Here are some touristy pictures!

Pyjama Jam!

So last Thursday, Pi Phi had a pyjama themed social; so I borrowed Ruth's dalmation onsie. It was like tehh comfiest night out I have ever been on! I even wore my uggs!!!! It was a fun nightttttt, here's some lovely pictures:

My First Basketball Game

Last week, I went to my first ever basketball game. I must say, Anna Keyes was the best at explaining all of the rules, because I was so clueless. The only things I knew about basketball were things I learnt hough watching One Tree Hill.....

Anyway, Anna asked me if I wanted to go to a game, so obviously I said I would love to go! Little did I know, she had VIP/family/friends tickets because she knew a guy on the team. We literally had the best seats in the house! The game was so much fun, and I was surprised at how much I actually understood the rules!!
