This Weekend...

So, this weekend has been nice!

Straight after Uni on Friday Emilienne, Ruth and I went for our first mani-pedi (to get our nails done). It was such a pamper session; we sat on massage chairs whilst getting our feet scrubbed and nails painted. It was the perfect treat following a week of exams! Then Ruth and I went shopping at the mall, and I bought some new clothes...
On Friday night I went to wine night at Anna's (my favourite pi phi!) Afterwards we went to a bar called Joes; I also went there last night too.. we always seem to go there! This weekend I also went to the Football (in which Fighting Illini won again!) and had a couple of movie days (watching mulan and gossip girl). I really should of got more work done this weekend, considering I have an exam this week. Oh well....

Mid-Week Update!

So I had my first mid-term exam today; could of gone worse, could of gone better! I have another exam on Thursday (which I am yet to study for... OOOPS). However, I have some fun plans for Friday, mainly the fact that I am going to go and get my nails done! Very exciting. And maybe go shopping. Although I do have another exam next week which I should strat studying for!

Tomorrow I am back volunteering in my local Kindergarten school! It was so much fun last week so I have high hopes for tomorrow. However, it does involve getting up really early, which I am not looking forward to...

Today I had a nice skype call with Verity which made me think about fourth year and how this year is already going SO quickly! I really need to start making the most out of this year! Which is why my plans for New Years Eve need to be sorted ASAP. I am hoping to visit New York with Bridget (my bestie from Leeds) and then maybe pop to Canada to see Simon and then travel back down to Illinois. Even though all these plans are still up in the air, i am finding it hard not to build my hopes up!!!

Also today I recieved a LOVELY letter from Danielle! I really like getting post as I feel very unloved when I check everyday! (Hint: send me stuff :) ) But her letter really made me smile so I have put it up on my wall!

Anyway, I am off to bed so I can have a productive morning tomorrow!

Barn Dance!

So whilst being at Illinois I have joined a couple of clubs; including the Make a Wish Foundation (which is such a nice charity). Anyway, last night we had a social; a barndance! A barn dance is pretty much what it sounds like- its a party at a barn (in the middle of nowhere). It was literally the most American thing EVER. We listened to country music, went on hay rides and dressed up all in farmer attire...

Pi Phi Slumber Party!

As I said, I am sorry for not posting the past 2 weeks; this week has been especially busy! I have mid-terms (exams) this week so I have been trying to cram in work between the fun things I have been doing!

On Friday night I went to my sororities slumber party! We went to a lake house about 30 minutes outside of Champaign. The cabin was so pretty and old-fashioned! We did loads of fun games and got to know all of our sisters! Also, I had my first ever smore (which was lovely!)... Considering I was on he edge of not joining a sorority, I am really glad I joined Pi Phi now as everyone is so lovely and I am getting to make loads of really nice friends; I even got a invite for Thanksgiving from the lovely Anna... i'm going to make sure she sticks to that...

Chicago Homecoming!

Ok, so I am a little behind on my blog, so I am just going to post about the past 2 weekends...

So last weekend I went to Chicago! We went to watch Fighting Illini at Soldier Field on the Saturday evening. It was a great game (even though we lost...) and there was such a good atmosphere! Me, Ruth and Ally stayed at a really nice hotel we managed to book last minute; such a comfy nights sleep!!!
Unfortunatley, the weather the next day was not very good, so we had to change some of our plans.. We were planning on going up to the skydeck of Sears Tower but it was too foggy. Instead we wen shopping! Where I bought some shoes on my 'emergency credit card'.. OOPS! We also walked around the streets of Chicago and took some good pictures! We got the bus back at about 9pm and got back to Champaign just after midnight. A long, tiring, fun weekend!

the past few days have been crazy but so good! I've been on a couple of nights out, and doing lots of sorority stuff!!!!
